A mass shooting in New York’s Queens has left 11 people injured, news portal amNewYork said. Police are investigating the mass shooting at a nightclub, the report said. 

Quoting law enforcement sources, the report said that the gunfire broke out near the Amazura event hall at 91-12 144th Place in Jamaica, within the 103rd Precinct, around 11:20 p.m. on January 1.

The New Jersey State Police have arrested the driver responsible, who is now charged with vehicular homicide. He is being held at the Salem County Correctional Facility.

At least three individuals went to a local hospital seeking treatment, the report said.

Numerous NYPD units have converged in the event hall area and established a large crime scene. As many as two suspects connected to the shooting are at large, according to reports on the Citizen app.

The mass shooting coincided with a deadly attack in New Orleans on New Year's Day, where at least 15 people were killed and dozens more injured after a US Army veteran drove his pickup truck into a crowd. The suspect, identified as Shamsud Din Jabbar (42), was shot dead during a gunfight with the police.

US law enforcement officials confirmed that Jabbar, who was carrying an ISIS flag during the attack, was responsible for what they described as an act of terrorism. While authorities have not disclosed the names of the victims, at least four of those killed have been identified by their families or associates.

In another incident, a Tesla Cybertruck parked outside the Las Vegas hotel of US President-Elect Donald Trump exploded, killing one person who was standing near the door. Reports indicated that fireworks, gas tanksgame ape, and camp fuel were found in the vehicle.
