Road repairs are set to happen in Metro Manila this weekend and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is advising motorists to take alternative routes due to possible traffic jams around affected areas. INQUIRER FILES

MANILA, Philippines — Portions of the Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (Edsa) will undergo reblocking and repairs this weekend, which may cause traffic congestion in some areas.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said in an advisory that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) started road works on Friday night and will end at 5 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 20.

The MMDA said the DPWH Activity will affect the following segments on Edsa:

Edsa southbound, Quezon City, West Avenue to MRT North Avenue Station (4th lane from center) Edsa southbound, Quezon City, Bansalangin Street to West Avenue (4th lane from center)

The MMDA advised motorists to take alternative routes while the reblocking and repairs are ongoing on the affected sections of Edsa.

Happening at Solaire Resort North in Quezon City, the PINSCF will gather local and foreign stakeholders to discuss the latest technology and innovations, as well as share best practices in the nuclear energy industry.

In a statement on Wednesday, the DOF said the agreements were signed in Malacañang Palace on Oct. 7 and was witnessed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, who was on a state visit to the Philippines.

“Affected roads will be fully passable by 5 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 20,” it noted.
